St. Mary’s Episcopal School, nestled in the woods of Goochland County, Virginia just west of Henrico County, offers a co-educational experience for children ages two through five years old. Accredited by the National Association of Young Children, St. Mary’s provides a curriculum with individualized instruction that appreciates each child’s abilities and talents, small classes, and a qualified and professional staff. 
    St. Mary's Episcopal School is a caring community, serving children ages two to five years old, where each child is valued and encouraged to contribute in a secure and creative learning environment that reflects the joy of learning and promotes the love of God, family and friends.
    Our curriculum, preparing the whole child for formal educational programs, offers a balance of small and large group activities, opportunities for quiet and active play, and daily (weather-permitting) outdoor experiences.  Each day all children have center activities from which they can make choices that include: sensory table (water/sand) experiences, art, math manipulatives, science discovery, listening/writing activities, housekeeping/dramatic play, language arts activities, block building, large motor and fine motor activities, literacy and language development activities, gardening experiences, and  music. Both the junior kindergarten class and the five-day class have opportunities to participate in computer centers.  During a large group circle time the children read classic literature, complete weather and calendar related activities, sing songs and recite finger plays, participate in creative movement activities, and make important discoveries about monthly curriculum themes.  Children are encouraged to express themselves through creative art, language expression, and music.  
    Spiritual development is an important aspect of our program.  Every day, we celebrate God’s creations through recognizing each child’s uniqueness, observing the beauty that surrounds us, and encouraging children to love one another through sharing and playing together.  We also have a blessing during each snack time and attend chapel every other week.
